A little bit about me…

My name is Tammy Haman and I am a Chicago-based mixed media encaustic artist and teacher on a mission to capture the essence of nature’s beauty and bring it into your world.

Amid the bustle of life, my artwork serves as a calming sanctuary, reflecting the harmony and chaos of the natural world. Through the mesmerizing layers of encaustic painting (melting beeswax and damar resin) I weave stories of outdoor exploration and personal introspection, inviting you to immerse yourself in the tactile wonders of my mixed media pieces.

With a passion for sharing knowledge and fostering creativity, I actively engage in teaching initiatives, empowering fellow adults to discover their artistic voice and find joy in self-expression.

My ultimate aspiration is to connect with busy individuals who seek a moment of tranquility and a touch of the outdoors in their daily lives. Through my art, I aim to evoke the beauty and wonder of nature, reminding you that amidst the urban rush, serenity can always be found.

I am currently the Exhibit Chairman for the Artists’ Association of Elk Grove Village and I enjoy the learning process of applying for and curating exhibits. I’m also a member of Fused Chicago, an Encaustic art association, since 2020 and CAVA (Chicago Alliance of Visual Artists).

My most recent series is dedicated to my Mom. There have been many mountains to climb this year and as her Alzheimer’s progresses, she stands tall with an inner strength that is encouraging to everyone around her. You can follow my artistic journey on instagram @tammy.haman.art.

Where’d you come up with that name?

RAK (rack) Fluid Art is named after my 3 kids, Ryan, Andrew and Katrina! My grown children and my husband have given me all the support that I need to send my voice and my art into the world!

Thanks for taking a look around and if you would like to join me on this artistic journey where the vibrancy of nature meets the warmth of encaustic expression, join my art tribe so you will get first dibs on new releases!
